Sammon Avenue, Toronto


My parents bought our house at 100 Sammon in the early 1940's and sold it around 1955.

Below I have some pictures of children we played with in the neighbourhood. I am sure that I got some of the names wrong.

Below is some of the children of the neighbourhood. From left to right is Beth, Barbara Boohan*, Fran, John Bingham, me, Elaine Bingham and Donna Boohan*. I do not know the last names of all the children. Of these children, it was Barbara, John and me that hung around together.

This is a clearer picture of the children of the last photo. The photos is more than just kids from this street. From left to right in the back is Betty Parkes, Deanna Young, (unknown), Beth, Murry Payne. The next row is Shirley Parkes, Fran, Elaine Bingham, John Bingham and me in the very front.

arrow This is a picture of me in the wonderful jeep our father built for me and my sisters. We were the envy of the neighbourhood. The young boys were especially jealous of this jeep and could not understand why girls should get such a toy.
